Florence, OR Sand Dunes - May 2012

Shannon had a couple days off from work so we packed up and headed to the Florence Sand Dunes in Oregon.  Griff was a trooper on the ride there since we got caught in a bit of traffic.  But boy was it worth the wait - he had so much fun.  Playing in the sand with his friends, riding the 4 wheeler, camp fires and staying up late.  What more could a kid ask for.

With the sun finally shining thru we took the day to visit Long Beach, WA and had a fantastic brunch, horseback riding on the beach, beautiful scenery and an ice cream sundae to finish it all off.

We had lots of fun over mommy's birthday weekend.
We headed up to Mt. Hood for some fun in the snow.  Then Grammie made a surprise visit to see us and take Griff to the Zoo while Shannon and I got to see Cirque de Soleil - Ovo.  Amazing!   What a great weekend!!!

Ever wanted to race the IDITAROD...

...well Shannon got to do just that - well maybe not the hard core Alaskan one but he joined up with some friends to race in the Keep Portland Weird - Shopping Cart Iditarod. What a hoot.
His team was dressed up like the TV Show BMS (football team) and the cruised thru Portland for 4 miles of running across 2 bridges while stopping at several watering holes. Here are some fun pics - on of Shannons friends had a fishing cart as well - you can see Shannon trying to catch one!! Griff and I went to send them off at the start and see them race across the finish line.
